Serum or plasma sample in the following tubes:
Serum separator tube (gold or tiger top)
Lithium/Sodium Heparin (green top)
EDTA (lavender top)
Citrate (blue top)
Specimen Storage and Stability
Store serum or plasma at the following temperatures:
Room Temperature: 15°C to 25°C up to 24 hours
Refrigerated: 2°C to 8°C up to 7 days
Frozen: -20°C or lower up to 3 months

Syphilis is a reportable infection. Reactive results will be reported to the Oakland County Health Department by VHL.
