Specimen Collection and Preparation
Serum sample in the following tubes:
Serum separator tube (gold or tiger top)
Notes:
To evaluate immune status, collect a single sample
To evaluate seroconversion after a recent infection, collect two samples. The second sample should be collected three weeks after the initial sample.
Specimen Storage and Stability
Store serum at the following temperatures:
Room temperature: 15°C to 30°C for no longer than 8 hours
Refrigerated: 2°C to 8°C for up to 48 hours
Frozen: -20°C or lower. Sample may be frozen and thawed up to 3 times.
