Specimen Collection and Preparation
Samples should be fasting and should be collected in the morning.
Serum or plasma sample in the following tubes:
Preferred Specimen: One Gold-top SST tube. (Minimum Whole Blood: 4.0 mL)
Also acceptable: One Green–top Heparin tube (Minimum Whole Blood: 3.0 mL)
Specimen Storage and Stability
Store serum or plasma at the following temperatures:
Room Temperature: -15°C to 25°C 4 days
Refrigerated: 2°C to 8°C: up to 7 days
Frozen: Not indicated
