This test is a quantitative measurement of Immunoglobulin A (IgA) from human serum and plasma. The measurement of IgA aids in the diagnosis of protein metabolism and the body's ability to fight off infections.

Methodology
This test measures immune complexes that form in solution due to antigen-antibody reaction resulting in light scattering in proportion to size, shape and concentration of the complexes. The resulting complexes are measured using a Turbidimeter, where a decrease in light intensity is proportional to the number of complexes formed.
