Used to detect Mycoplasma pneumoniae from nasopharyngeal swabs collected from individuals with clinical signs and symptoms of a respiratory tract infection.
Specimen Collection and Preparation
Nasopharyngeal Swab - specialized swab with longer, flexible shaft and mini-tip (flocked, foam or spun synthetic with aluminum shaft) in the following tubes (1-3 mL):

Specimen Storage and Stability
Store the swab at the following temperature:
Room Temperature: 25°C ± 2°C up to 24 hours
Refrigerated: 2°C to 8°C up to 4 days
