Test Utility
Helpful in the scientific diagnosis of a few conditions, including temporal arteritis, polymyalgia rheumatica and, possibly, rheumatoid arthritis.
Specimen Storage and Stability
Samples should be analyzed within 4 hours after collection. If it is not possible to analyze the sample within 4 hours, store at 2-8°C until it can be analyzed. Stored at 2-8°C, EDTA blood samples may be analyzed for up to 24 hours.
Specimen Collection and Preparation
The sample volume must be 2.0mL to 4.0mL in the standard 13x75mm EDTA tube. The test must be performed within 4 hours of collection with the sample at room temperature (18-25°C). The test may be performed on blood samples stored at (2-8°C) for a maximum period of 24 hours.

Result available after getting the specimen in 5 hours.
STAT results available within 2 hours of receipt in the Laboratory.
