Methodology
Testing performed on Beckman Coulter DxC 700 AU analyzing serum.
Test Utility
The Chloride test system is intended for the quantitative measurement of the level of chloride in serum. Chloride measurements are used in the diagnosis and treatment of electrolyte and metabolic disorders such as cystic fibrosis and diabetic acidosis.
Specimen Storage and Stability
Separate serum from blood cells ASAP. Avoid hemolysis. One Gold Top or Tiger SST, minimum 2.0mL. Chloride is stable in serum at least for 7 days at 2-8C.
Specimen Collection and Preparation
Serum sample recommended, volume minimum 2.0mL in Gold Top or Tiger SST, free from hemolysis.
